There will be two judges on the panel, one of whom will always be Scottish.The judges for the 2018 award are Janice Galloway and John Glenday.
There will be a Gaelic Adviser who is also a poet. The Gaelic Adviser for 2018 is Meg Bateman.
The judging will take place between April and June, and while the shortlisted poets will be notified earlier, the public announcement will be made in August at an event during the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
A sampler of poems by the winner and runner-up will be made available for the Award announcement, and poems will be used in press releases, online in connection with the Award, and in emails for the purposes of promoting the Award.
